Audition
We're so glad you're considering being part of the Southwest Symphony. Auditions for new members are held each August, with additional auditions scheduled when there's an opening or need for a specific instrument. Whether you'd like to join the symphony or be on our sub list, we'd love to hear you play. Read through the process below, then apply when you're ready.

Apply NowAudition Process
Four steps from application to your first rehearsal. The whole process takes about two to three weeks.
Submit Application
Fill out the online form with your contact info, instrument, and orchestral experience.
Schedule Audition
We'll email you within a week to set a time, plus send the excerpt to prepare.
Audition Day
Play a 2 to 3 minute solo of your choice and the prepared excerpt.
Audition Results
We'll be in touch within two weeks with our decision and next steps.
Commitment Details
Members rehearse weekly on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 PM throughout the concert season. In addition to rehearsals, members are expected to attend dress rehearsals and all scheduled concerts.
We welcome musicians age 18 and older, including high school seniors. All experience levels are encouraged to apply. What matters most is your dedication and passion for the music.
A complete rehearsal schedule will be provided along with audition excerpts when you apply, so you know what to expect before committing.

The Southwest Symphony Chorale invites talented vocalists to audition for our upcoming production of Rob Gardner’s oratorio, Lamb of God. We are seeking all choral parts, soloists, and narrators. Rehearsals will begin Wednesday January 20, 2027. Auditions must be submitted by August 29, 2026.
