Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I purchase tickets?

Tickets can be purchased through the Utah Tech University Ticketing Office. While you can buy them in person or over the phone we recommend purchasing them online as the box office has limited hours. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.

Can I purchase season tickets?

At the beginning of each season we offer patrons the opportunity to become part of our Crescendo Club which provides each member with season tickets. This is the best price for all of our concerts and the only way to get season tickets. This is usually available mid-summer through September.

What is your ticketing policy concerning refunds and exchanges?

Trust us, you won't want to miss out on our performances.

We believe that the Symphony is something that should be available to everyone. If you have a specific need or question please reach out to us at symphony@swsutah.org

Do you offer any discounts?

Yes! There are special offers found on the ticketing website that increase your discount based on how many concerts you are attending. Students and seniors can also get a discount by using code STUDENT or SENIOR at checkout.

Where are the Symphony concerts located?

We perform in the Cox Auditorium on the campus of Utah Tech University. The address is 325 S 700 E, St. George, UT 84770. For more information visit Directions and Parking click here.

Can we bring our children?

In consideration of both our patrons and artists, children age 5 and above are permitted at our concerts. We love our youngest patrons and welcome families to the symphony, but we also understand that it can be tricky for little ones to sit still. Some of our concerts may cater to a youth more than others simply because of the familiarity or length of the pieces being played. Our Halloween Spooktacular in particular is a great concert to introduce children to symphonic music. All guests must have a ticket and children below age 5 will not be allowed in the concert hall.>

What time should we arrive?

Doors to the auditorium open to guests around 6:45. We recommend being in your seats at least 10 minutes prior to the start of the concert at 7:30. Some concerts will have pre-show music provided by a local high school or youth orchestra which starts at 7 and lasts about 15 minutes.

What if we are late?

Guests arriving late will be allowed into the auditorium between movements so as not to disrupt the performance.

What if I need to leave during the performance?

If you need to leave or re-enter the auditorium during the performance we ask that you do so quietly when there is a break in the music.

I’ve never been to a symphony performance before, when do I applaud?

We invite you to clap when the concertmaster enters the stage. They will tune the orchestra. Then the audience will clap again when the conductor and any guest artists enter the stage. Clapping is encouraged at the end of musical pieces. You may notice however that some pieces have several movements. We encourage you to hold your applause during these short breaks and wait to applaud until the entire piece is finished. You can use your program for reference.
